Schools are united by cleanup plans; Asbestos removal forces 2 Ballston Spa facilities to share staff, space.(Capital Region)

BALLSTON SPA - Students from the two schools where asbestos was found last month will share classrooms, and their teachers will share students, when classes finally start next week.

Asbestos fibers were found in both schools, Milton Terrace Primary and Wood Road Intermedi ate, which share a campus at 100 Wood Road. That find prompted Ballston Spa Central School District to delay the start of school until Sept. 13, affecting some 1,500 students and 210 staff.

Principals Joseph Lopez, at Milton Terrace, and Michael Selkis, at Wood Road, asked their staffs to voluntarily pair up with other teachers from their school …
